An ephemeral, site-responsive, cross-artform intervention that combines illuminated puppetry with dance and music, designed to animate public spaces at twilight.
A mother dolphin and her three calves follow a dancer through the darkening streets of our cities and towns. They playfully explore the topography's features and landmarks, drawing attention to specific areas with mini choreographed sequences.
As they travel, the gathering audience follows the Pod to a central square where a white chair awaits the dancer. As the audience assembles, the sound design swells, heralding an eight-minute choreographed piece that explores humanity's relationship with the natural world.
The choreography transitions into audience interaction, offering children opportunities to encounter these ambassadors from another realm. Ultimately, the Pod reunites and returns through the gathering darkness to their rest.
